Disney to Develop DELILAH DIRK AND THE TURKISH LIEUTENANT Movie

Disney is developing a Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant movie!

Disney has acquired the film rights to Tony Cliff’s New York Times bestselling graphic novel series, ‘Delilah Dirk and the Turkish Lieutenant.’ They plan to develop a live-action version of the graphic novels, with Roy Lee producing through his Vertigo Entertainment banner along with Mark Mower and Justin Giritlian through Recursion Media.

The story follows Delilah Dirk, a 19th century adventurer, who has plans to rob a corrupt Sultan in Constantinople after escaping from a Turkish prison. She is aided in this heist by her new friend, a Turkish tea master, Erdemoglu Selim, who feels he is bound to follow her across Turkey after she saves his life.

Though no cast, writers or director is attached to the film yet, it looks to be in good hands, with Lee having experience on films such as The Ring, The Lego Movie, Poltergeist and Oscar best picture winner, The Departed.

This film is still in its beginning stages, so we don’t know much about it, though it is sure to be a lot of fun, with such an exciting source material to pull from.
