Disney is talks to reboot the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise which has grossed over $4.5 billion after five films in 14 years. The studio is looking at Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to write the script. The two have worked together to pen the first two Deadpool scripts as well as Zombieland and its sequel and have worked on the upcoming Netflix action flick, 6 Underground.
Jerry Bruckheimer will continue to helm the project as producer, but no word yet if any of the cast from the first five films will reprise their roles.
