You’d think that a world full of elves, unicorns, and dragons would be considered totally magical, but in Disney Pixar’s original animated feature Onward, they’re anything but.
Onward, which features the voice talents of Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Octavia Spencer, takes place in another dimension where elves are the equivalent of humans, dragons are dogs, and unicorns are raccoons, among other fascinating oddities. But despite all this, there’s no actual magic.
Enter brothers Ian and Barney (voiced by Holland and Pratt,) whose simple errand turns into a wild quest in search of their world’s remaining magic. Ian is a shy, awkward kid while Barney is a bit more boisterous, but they’re on this mission together!
