Nostalgia and wonder break free with new BEAUTY AND THE BEAST trailer!
Despite posters and a teaser, Disney has kept Beauty and the Beast close to the chest, hiding many of the details until the day the extensive post-production work was ready to be shown off. Well, today is that day!
The nearly two minute trailer is revealing the world of Belle (Emma Watson) and her beastly beau (Dan Stevens) in detail, complete with the talking and dancing servants. We’re also seeing the capture of Belle’s father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), and Gaston (Luke Evans) in all his egotistical glory!
We’re not hearing the songs as performed in the musical this time around, opting for the sweeping score instead, it’s great to see some dancing and rallying for the musical numbers in there.
Beauty and the Beast comes to theaters on March 17, 2017.
Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast” is a live-action re-telling of the studio’s animated classic which refashions the classic characters from the tale as old as time for a contemporary audience, staying true to the original music while updating the score with several new songs. “Beauty and the Beast” is the fantastic journey of Belle, a bright, beautiful and independent young woman who is taken prisoner by a beast in his castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the Beast’s hideous exterior and realize the kind heart and soul of the true Prince within.
