Meet Willowdean’s crush and more from the DUMPLIN’ movie!

The whole gang’s here as the movie adaptation of Julie Murphy‘s Dumplin’ makes a major casting announcement!

Dumplin’, a “music-driven comedy,” follows Willowdean Dickson (Danielle Macdonald), a plus-sized Texas teen with a sharp wit and a Dolly Parton obsession whose protest entry into a beauty pageant to spite her mother (Jennifer Aniston) shakes up the social hierarchy in her small town.

The film just added six new cast members: Luke Benward (Still The King), Dove Cameron (Liv and Maddie) Bex Taylor-Klaus (Arrow), Maddie Baillio (Hairspray Live!), Georgie Flores (Famous In Love), and Ginger Minj (RuPaul’s Drag Race).

Though the announcement via Deadline doesn’t confirm who they’ll be playing, Julie Murphy confirmed via Twitter that Luke Benward will indeed play Willowdean Dickson’s crush, Bo, and Ginger Minj is on board as Millie, who is sure to be a scene stealer.

The film, which began production today, also features Odeya Rush (The Giver) as Willowdean’s best friend, Ellen.

There is no slated release date for the film quite yet.

Julie Murphy’s novel is available everywhere now. You can snag a copy via Amazon.
