DUMPLIN’ Movie Releases Poster, Photos, and Original Song

Prepare to meet DUMPLIN with new movie reveals!

The film adaptation of Julie Murphy‘s body positive, girl power comedy Dumplin’ is headed to Netflix next month!

The story follows Willowdean Dickson (Danielle MacDonald), a plus-sized Texas teen with a sharp wit whose protest entry into a beauty pageant to spite her mother (Jennifer Aniston) shakes up the social hierarchy in her small town. Along the way, she’ll find her courage tested in unexpected ways, because making a statement is never easy.

Netflix just shared some major Dumplin’ love with the release of two new photos from the film, an official poster reminiscent of the book cover (via Hypable), and the film’s first original song off the soundtrack starring and curated by Dolly Parton, “Girl In The Movies”!

We got an image of Jennifer Aniston as Willowdean’s mother Rosie with the release date announcement, but this new shot has her looking even more frazzled.

Meanwhile, we get an unblemished look at Willowdean in confident pageant mode, which also happens to be the movie tie-in cover.

There’s also a movie poster that gives us definite bookish vibes!

And the cherry of top? There’s the second single and first original track from the soundtrack, Dolly Parton’s “Girl In The Movies”, is out now! You can listen to a sampler below. The soundtrack is out November 30th, but you can preorder it now via Amazon.

Dumplin’ drops on Netflix on December 7, 2018.
