Dylan O’Brien reportedly over run by car on MAZE RUNNER set.
20th Century Fox confirms that The Maze Runner trilogy star Dylan O’Brien was injured on the set of the third and final film, Maze Runner: The Death Cure, on Thursday.
The news was originally reported by TMZ earlier in the day. The website claims that Dylan O’Brien suffersed multiple broken bones after being accidentally run over by a car on the set. His injuries were described as serious, but thankfully not critical.
The studio was not specific regarding O’Brien’s injuries in a statement:
“Dylan O’Brien was injured yesterday while filming ‘Maze Runner: The Death Cure’ in Vancouver, Canada. He was immediately transferred to a local hospital for observation and treatment. Production on the film will be shut down while he recovers. Our thoughts go out to Dylan for a full and speedy recovery.”
The 24-year-old stars as Thomas, one of several teens left in a maze who may just turn out to be the key to saving humanity from a vicious plague, in the dystopian franchise based on James Dashner’s novels.
UPDATE:
Series author James Dashner and several cast members are speaking out in support of Dylan and noting that the situation isn’t as drastic as TMZ made it out to be!
I just want to let everyone know that yes, Dylan was hurt, but that he’s going to be okay. Not life threatening in any way.

Production is postponed but certainly not cancelled. All that matters now is that Dylan recovers. We love you, Dylan!!!
