Check out Dylan O’Brien as Mitch Rapp in AMERICAN ASSASSIN

This first look of Dylan O’Brien as AMERICAN ASSASSIN Mitch Rapp shows us how tough he really can be.

Maybe you didn’t know this, but Dylan O’Brien signed on to play another character from a book series. But this time around, it’s based off a non-YA series. Bestselling author Vince Flynn has written series called American Assassin that is currently on book 15. It’s centered on a CIA Black Ops agent named Mitch Rapp.

American Assassin is the eleventh book published in the series. It is also considered as book #1 due to the story taking place before the previous ten books. This is also the reason for a younger version of Mitch Rapp, as many fans who’ve read through the series from the beginning were probably used to imagining an older version of Mitch.

However, if the movie adaptation succeeds, the move to cast O’Brien in the role of Rapp makes sense. There’s naturally the hope to make sequels, after all. Check out the full image below.

Here’s a tweet that teased the image.

Also starring in American Assassin are Michael Keaton (The Founder, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Sanaa Lathan (Now You See Me 2, Family Guy), and Taylor Kitsch (True Detective, John Carter).

Dylan O’Brien is most known for his role as Stiles in the MTV series, Teen Wolf. Teen Wolf will premiere its 6th and final season November 15, 2016. You can also see him in theaters on September 30th in the based-on-a-true-story movie Deepwater Horizon.

American Assassin is currently filming in Europe, but there is no release date. For those wondering about the filming of the finale of The Maze Runner trilogy, The Death Cure, O’Brien and the rest of the cast and crew will begin production on that in early 2017.
