ME AND EARL AND THE DYING GIRL, the film based off the YA book of the same name by Jesse Andrews, is getting a ton of buzz despite a quieter indie status. The movie sold for a record-breaking number at Sundance Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award and Grand Jury prize. Now, Fox Searchlight is preparing for the big screen release with new clips!
The movie tells the story of Greg, a cripplingly anti-social high school senior who is forced to spend time a childhood acquaintance, Rachel, after she’s diagnosed with leukemia.
Greg only has one companion, a deadpan “co-worker” named Earl with whom he creates zany home movies as homages to popular film. In the latest clip, Earl explains Greg’s odd unwillingness to call anyone his friend to Rachel, who’s having a hard time figuring him out.
