Emily Blunt joins Dwayne Johnson for Disney’s JUNGLE CRUISE

Into the Woods’ Emily Blunt adds another Disney film to her credentials as she joins Dwayne Johnson for JUNGLE CRUISE movie.

It’s been a few years since Disney made the announcement that Dwayne Johnson was going to star in the live-action movie version of The Jungle Cruise. Since then, we’ve only established the person who’ll be helming the Disney project – Jaume Collet-Serra – but nothing else. Finally, Disney released the news that Into the Woods star Emily Blunt, will be co-starring with Johnson.

The official storyline for The Jungle Cruise has yet to be disclosed, although it’s been stated by Variety that the inspiration for the relationship between the two stars’ characters will be that of 1951’s The African Queen.

Blunt, who will also be playing the  title character in Disney’s Mary Poppins Returns, has starred in numerous films since 2003, including The Devil Wears Prada, The Young Victoria, Edge of Tomorrow, and the upcoming thriller A Quiet Place, which comes out April 6th and co-stars her husband John Krasinski, who also directed the movie.

Production for The Jungle Cruise is set to start sometime in May.
