Emma Carstairs Is Ready For Revenge In LADY MIDNIGHT Snippet

Emma rages after Julian is hurt in new LADY MIDNIGHT snippet from Cassandra Clare!

It’s not easy having a parabatai– a sacred battle partner with whom you are connected on a spiritual level. For Emma Carstairs and Julian Blackthorn of The Dark Artifices, facing demons and life’s challenges together doesn’t always mean seeing eye-to-eye. They’re fiercely protective of each each, as evidence in this new Lady Midnight snippet in which Emma storms out to confront Julian’s brother, Mark Blackthorn, following an incident between the siblings.

From Cassandra Clare’s tumblr:

“I’m here,” he said, and went over to pick up Tavvy. Tavvy put his head down on Jules’ shoulder, looking sleepy, and getting paint all over Jules’ t-shirt. But Jules didn’t seem to care. He put his chin down in his younger brother’s curls and smiled at Emma.

“Forget it,” he said. “I’m going to take this one off to bed. You should probably get some sleep, too.”

But Emma’s veins were buzzing with a sharp elixir of anger and protectiveness. She could almost taste it in her mouth. No one hurt Julian. No one. Not even his much-missed, much-loved brother.

“I will,” she said. “I’ve got something to do, first.”

Julian’s blue-green eyes narrowed. “Emma, don’t try to —”

But she was already gone.

We love the sweet moment between Jules and his younger brother Tavvy aka Octavius, but it’s also amazing to see Emma on her way to set Mark straight after he hurt her parabatai. What a fierce chick!

This is certainly not the last Lady Midnight snippet we expect before the book’s release on March 8, 2016. We’ll post more as they come!
