ENLISTED Star Joins Marvel Comedy NEW WARRIORS

Keith David heads to NEW WARRIORS as a disgruntled public employee begrudged by superheroes!

Freeform has already unveiled the leads behind their new Marvel comedy team-up, New Warriors, but another great actor has also joined the mix in a recurring role!

Keith David, who played Sgt. Major Cody on showrunner Kevin Biegel‘s previous, semi-autobiographical show Enlisted, is adding his comedic flair to the group in a more straight-laced role. According to THR, he’ll play Ernest Vigman, “a caustic municipal employee who butts up against the hopeful energy of the new warriors.”

David has a lengthy acting history, including roles on Community, Platoon, Crash, ER, Adventure Time, and more.

Marvel’s New Warriors is a half-hour per episode comedic take on the superhero universe in which young people with powers struggle to find the balance between fighting villains and everyday quirks like bad jobs and dating. It stars Milana Vayntrub as Squirrel Girl, Derek Theler as Mister Immortal, Jeremy Tardy as Night Thrasher, Calum Worthy as Speedball, Matthew Moy as Microbe, and Kate Comer as Debrii.

The show will premiere sometime in 2018.
