The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Matrix actress Essie Davis will join the GAME OF THRONES cast for season six.
Known most recently for her role in Babadook (2014), the Australian actress will be joining the HBO drama as a member of a “traveling theatre troupe in Braavos.” When the troupe stages a play called The Bloody Hand, Davis will play the role of Cersei Lannister.
In recent cast additions, Pilou Asbæk joined the show as Euron Greyjoy, and Richard E. Grant has been cast as an unknown role.
HBO’s Game of Thrones will start its new season in the spring.
