Fanart vs. Lily Collins

Most devoted wanna-be Shadowhunters know that while one is reading, one often paints a very specific portrait in their head of what they believe a character should look like. When a book-to-movie adaption is made, casting can brew some major conflict in the fandom when an actor’s appearance doesn’t match up with what a certain reader imagined the character to look like while reading. (Look at what happened when pale, blonde Jennifer Lawrence was first casted as Katniss Everdeen!) Of course we all know that while physical characteristics can play a big part in casting, acting ability should come first. I think Lily Collins is a fairly good look-alike for my imaginary Clary,  but I’ll let you draw your own conclusions! Here is an awesome painting of Clary done by Deviantart user mseregon:
