NAT WOLFF – PAPER TOWNS, THE FAULT IN OUR STARS
This may fall under “wish fulfillment” because Nat has been super successful in film and probably isn’t looking for a TV gig, but we think he’d be perfect for the role. Besides pulling off the awkward teen angle beautifully in THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, Nat has also showed amazing range in films like PALO ALTO and ADMISSION. He’d handle Simon’s character growth with ease. Plus, he’s a musician and could easily use his skills to portray… whatever Simon’s band will be called this time!
CARTER JENKINS – THE FOLLOWING, SURFACE
We actually remember this actor best from that short-lived TV show, SURFACE. He’s definitely grown up very much looking like an awkward teen growing into his own, and we think he would be great for Simon, not looking too nerdy, but can make himself look just nerdy enough to eventually grow out of it when Simon goes through his significant changes.
