J.K. Rowling gives us some insight into the younger Albus Dumbledore in this FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD.
It’s been seven years since we last saw Albus Dumbledore on the big screen, where he appeared to Harry Potter in his death/dream in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. But now we’ll actually get to see him again, albeit a younger version of Dumbledore, in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
In the latest featurette for the Crimes of Grindelwald, we get to hear from Rowling, Jude Law, who portrays a younger Professor Dumbledore, as well as Johnny Depp, who plays the villain Gellert Grindelwald, a character who also happens to be a prominent person from Dumbledore’s “we were closer than brothers” past.
It’ll be great to see a “familiar” face, even though he will be played by a different actor, but it will also be great to see how Dumbledore was in his younger days and how he was as a professor at Hogwarts. At this point, we’ll probably get a deeper look into what his relationship with Grindelwald was, more than Harry Potter ever will.
