Filming for SUPERNATURAL’s Final Season May Resume Sooner Than You Think

Slowly but surely, the world is emerging from quarantine. So, what does that mean for the return of SUPERNATURAL?

If you’re a fan of Supernatural, you’ve probably been wondering when the gears are gonna start moving again. The show’s filming came to a halt back in March due to COVID-19 precautions and restrictions, and it’s been a while since we’ve received any kind of news. In mid-May, we heard The CW’s plan was to air the final seven episodes of the series in Fall 2020.

Five of those episodes are waiting for post-production’s magic, but the last two eps have not yet been shot.

Nellie Andreeva of Deadline caught whispers about shows with filming based in Vancouver. Andreeva reports that late July is most likely when our beloved Supernatural cast and crew will return to set for one last ride.

There’s a bit of urgency to get things moving because Jared Padalecki‘s new show, Walker, is to begin production soon (and premiere in Winter 2021).

However, everything predicted is still an educated estimate. As Andreeva puts it, “no one is rushing a return to production before safety protocols are agreed upon with the unions and implemented.”
