Meet even more new characters from FINDING DORY, including Rudder and Fluke!
Back at the D23 Expo last August, we learned about several new characters coming to Disney’s Finding Nemo sequel 13 years in the making, Finding Dory. But it turns out that the studio has been keeping some aces up their sleeve until closer to the release date.
In a reveal on USA Today, Disney and Pixar introduced even more new characters who will be part of Dory’s journey to discovering her family, her past, and where she belongs!
First, check out Rudder (Dominic West) and Fluke (Idris Elba), two sea lions who will “come by way of Guy Ritchie East London.” Director Andrew Stanton admits that the two were cast because he knew they were excellent actors and really, he just wanted to see a reunion of The Wire.
Seagulls will be traded in for loons as the story moves to Monterey, California, but at least some of these troublesome little beggars have names. Meet Becky!
The film will also offer up some quality adorableness with the addition of otters. The animals can be quite vicious in real life, but for audience purposes the director said they “ended up being more successful as cute creatures that just stare at you.”
Disney/Pixar’s Finding Dory just keeps swimming into theaters on June 17, 2016.
