If you think you’re prepared to watch Five Feet Apart in theaters, you better have some tissues on hand.

In the new film based off of Rachael Lippincott’s novel, Haley Lu Richardson and Cole Sprouse play Stella and Will, two teenagers who bond over their cystic fibrosis diagnosis, a disease that prevents them from physically touching.

In anticipation of the March 15 release, EW has an exclusive clip of Stella (Richardson) and Will (Sprouse) getting ready for a date. Stella is freaking out in classic first date fashion, while Will’s struggle seems to be a little more internal.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Richardson explained how much she enjoyed working with Sprouse, saying that “I never know what to expect meeting an actor; sometimes they’re great, sometimes they’re a little bit of a struggle.”

But she only had good things to say about her fellow co-star:

Cole was great. I kind of overly care to a fault when preparing for roles, and it just becomes to a fault because it’s so extreme how much I care, and Cole is the same way. He really, really wanted to do justice to the cystic fibrosis community and the reality that these two people are in. That was more important to him than anything else.
