Forest Whitaker Joins The Cast of STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE

Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker is the latest addition to the first STAR WARS spin-off film!

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE has added Forest Whitaker to its slowly expanding cast!

There’s no word as to what character he’ll play in the film, but Whitaker joins Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, and Riz Ahmed as Rebel soldiers and Ben Mendelsohn as the story’s villain. THE HUNGER GAMES’ Sam Claflin is also rumored for a role, but has not been confirmed.

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE will be the DIRTY DOZEN of the franchise, according to director Gareth Edwards. Taking place prior to A NEW HOPE, the story will revolve around the early stages of the Rebel Alliance as they band together and steal the plans for the Death Star.

Forest Whitaker is best known for his roles in THE SHIELD, ER, THE LAST STAND, LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER, and THE LAST KING OF SCOTLAND, for which he won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2006.

STAR WARS: ROGUE ONE opens on December 16, 2016.
