Fans of books under Entangled Publishing will likely be excited with the news that Liz Pelletier, the CEO of the company, now has launched a production company with former Crooked Highway president, Sherryl Clark, named Premeditated Productions.
Having another production company out there in the world may seem like nothing extraordinary, but the fact that it’s co-founded by someone who’s directly tied to a book publishing company, including one that released the highly popular fantasy novel Fourth Wing, means we’re looking into getting some screen adaptations of many people’s current favorite stories.
As it is, Rebecca Yarros‘ Fourth Wing, the first novel of The Empyrean series, is already currently being adapted into a TV series under Michael B. Jordan’s production company, Outlier Society. Although it’s under another production company, Pelletier is still involved as executive producer, along with Yarros, Jordan, Outlier Society president Elizabeth Raposo, and Fourth Wing showrunner Moira Walley-Beckett (creator for “Anne with an E,” writer for “Breaking Bad”).
Despite Fourth Wing being under Outlier, it’s already been revealed that Pelletier plans to license a number of the books to Premeditated for film, TV, and/or gaming. Books under Entangled include YA fantasy The Crave series by Tracy Wolff, romance fantasy Apprentice to the Villain by Hannah Nicole Maehrer, NA fantasy The Wren in the Holly Library by K.A. Linde, and suspense novel All the Missing Girls by Linda Hurtado Bond.
Premeditated Productions also sets a three-year first-look TV and film deal with Amazon MGM Studios, which presumably gives Amazon first access to whatever TV shows and movies Premeditated produces. So, get your Amazon accounts ready for some goodies in the near future!
