The cast for CLOAK AND DAGGER, Freeform’s upcoming Marvel straight-to-series, has been finalized.
Freeform has found their full cast for the straight-to-series drama, Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger. The series may not premiere until next year, but even so, it’s good to know that it’s guaranteed a season to prove itself.
The actors for the two main protagonists were already announced earlier, but you can check out who else will be joining Olivia Holt and Aubrey Johnson.
Andrea Roth (Rescue Me) plays Melissa Bowen, Tandy’s mom.
Melissa is an eternal optimist despite the struggles to adapt to her new existence. While complex and emotionally composed, her love for her daughter burns bright.Gloria Reuben (ER, Mr. Robot) plays Adina Johnson, Tyrone’s mom.
Adina invests every aspect of her being into giving her son the life she believes he deserves. But she props up and protects Tyrone so much, she almost forgets to love him.Miles Mussenden (Bloodline) plays Michael Johnson, Tyrone’s father.
Michael trudges through his desk job to keep his family safe and happy. He’s a working-class father who does what he can to ensure his son will grow up to be a great man.
Carl Lundstedt (Grey’s Anatomy) plays Liam.
Liam is a salt-of-the-earth townie who operates as Tandy’s partner in crime while moonlighting as her boyfriend. But underneath his rough-around-the-edges appearance, Liam has big dreams.James Saito (Life of Pi) plays Dr. Bernard Sanjo.
An emotional cornerstone in Tyrone’s life, they have an unusual relationship.J.D. Evermore (True Detective) plays Detective Connors.
He is a contradiction of a man embracing an intimidating persona that overcompensates for a secret he keeps close to the vest.
Showrunner Joe Pokaski is currently rewriting the initial script, and The Hollywood Reporter says that the series is heading towards a winter 2018 premiere.
“It’s been important to us from day one that Marvel’s Cloak and Dagger is about character and emotion above all,” says Pokaski. “We’re so excited to have assembled a murderer’s row of talented actors who can execute on that, and then some.”
Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory will executive produce and Gina Prince-Bythewood will direct the pilot episode.
