Pivotal GAME OF THRONES Season 6 character Euron Greyjoy has been cast!
After some speculation, HBO confirmed today that Game of Thrones has found its Euron Greyjoy.
Danish actor Pilou Asbæk was pinpointed as Euron Greyjoy after fans at Watchers on The Wall spotted the actor filming the infamous Kingsmoot book scene around Ballintoy Harbour in Northern Ireland.
Euron Greyjoy is the brother of Lord Balon Greyjoy. He is nicknamed “Crow’s Eye” for the patch he wears over his left eye and is the captain of the Silence, a ship manned by crew members who’ve had their tongues removed. He is known for having a particularly rocky relationship with his siblings, particularly Victarion.
Pilou Asbæk has previously had roles in The Borgias and will play Pontius Pilate in the remake of Ben-Hur coming soon.
Many believed that Ian McShane’s mystery casting was for this role, but at least we can cross it off the list of possibilities! There’s only about 10 options left, after all…
