Look For Hidden Messages in GAME OF THRONES’ Video For “Jenny Of Oldstones”

The second episode of the final season of Game of Thrones ushered in a bit of show tradition with the inclusion of an original song!

In the episode, Tyrion asks who can sing and it’s no other than Podrick who comes forth with a harrowing rendition of a song called “Jenny of Oldstones”. In the closing credits, the song comes back again, this time performed by the incredible Florence + The Machine.

The official Game of Thrones YouTube channel just released the lyric video for the song, which is turning a lot of heads. The video suggests that the song is a recap for past events on the show more than anything, but fans have plenty of theories as to what the song could mean for the future of the show as well.

Check out the video at the top of the post.

For those who don’t know, Jenny of Oldstones is the wife of Duncan Targaryen, who broke off his engagement to a Baratheon and abdicated the Iron Throne long ago. The fact that it plays as Jon Snow learns that he’s the true heir of the Targaryen line probably isn’t a coincidence. Would he give up the throne for love?

We’ll know for sure in just a few weeks!

Game of Thrones airs Sundays on HBO.
