GAME OF THRONES themed Oreos are coming

In honor of the popular franchise’s last season, brands are taking the opportunity to break out of the box and create something unique and one of a kind. As if Game of Thrones fans aren’t already squirming restlessly, now we get news that Oreos is jumping onto the bandwagon.

Over the weekend, they posted a cryptic video on their Instagram suggesting that quite possibly, some Game of Thrones themed Oreos are coming.

Cookies are coming.

In an email to Daily Meal, a representative from the famous black and white cookie company confirmed this suspicion:

“So glad you asked, we couldn’t keep it to ourselves much longer. For now all we can share is a confirmation that cookies are, in fact, coming. But there will be much more to come! Stay tuned – we will provide updates as soon as we can!

Well thanks for that Oreo. That tells us… nothing. What does Game of Thrones cookies mean?! Is it the same black-and-white cookie just packaged differently? Are each cookie stamped with a different with a house emblem? Since the show is based off of George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire,” will we maybe see ice and fire colored cookies? So many questions still left unanswered!!

Sadly we’ll have to wait a while for these answers as it looks like no one’s giving out any answers. We’re lucky we know what the packaging looks like thanks to food bloggers like Candy Hunting and The Junk Food Aisle who teased a photo of the packaging on their socials. Still, these photos don’t tell us if there’s more to it than fun new packaging. Guess we’ll have to wait until April to find out!
