GAME OF THRONES Producers Confirm The Show Will Spoil Book Series

In a race against time, GAME OF THRONES show plans to spoil the end of A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE.

George R.R. Martin has been notoriously slow in writing the remaining books in A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE, the series which spawned the hit GAME OF THRONES television show. Fans of the show have long wondered how the show would continue in the absence of widely-released source material. Now, executive producer David Benioff admits that the show has worked alongside George R.R. Martin to craft an end that will spoil the final books:

“Luckily, we’ve been talking about this with George [R.R. Martin] for a long time… and we know where things are heading. So, we’ll eventually meet up at pretty much the same place where George is going. There might be a few deviations along the route, but we’re heading towards the same destination.”

It may not be scene-for-scene and some details will likely be changed, but the major plot points for Martin’s novels will end up on the screen perhaps years before they reach the (published) page.

Though it may be a bit controversial to have the show reveal major book details before its publication, Benioff says that it’s the only practical thing to do in light of the cast and crews careers:

“We can’t put the show on hiatus… We can’t take a two-year break ’cause you know these guys are in demand and they are going to go off and do other stuff. So, we kind of have to keep pushing forward.”

As long as the quality of the show stays on par, we’re on board for the content coming to screen before it comes to the page! What about you?
