For my gaming and Game of Thrones fans, we’ve got some good news for you this Monday morning.
HBO and Framestore, an award-winning visual effects studio, just released their new collaboration of a new VR game called Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall. In this VR experience, fans will join the Night’s Watch and fight against wights and undead polar bears all the while protecting the Wall and Seven Kingdoms.
Given it’s the most immersive version of video games, turning the show into a VR experience seems almost like a no-brainer. When speaking on the game’s development, Viveport’s president, Rikard Steiber, explained that “VR is the perfect pairing for Game of Thrones fans who can now step onto the battlefield of Beyond the Wall as part of Viveport Infinity.”
Game of Thrones: Beyond the Wall is now available as a Viveport Infinity-exclusive and will launch in English in the US, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, the UK, and Canada.
The game is compatible for the HTC VIVE and Oculus Rift headsets and can be downloaded by members of viveport.com‘s VR subscription services ($12.99/mnth or $100/yr).
