GAME OF THRONES Showrunners Give “Heartfelt Apology” For Latest Episode

David Benioff and Dan Weiss are “apologizing” for devastating GAME OF THRONES fans!

WARNING: Spoilers for Sunday’s episode of Game of Thrones, “Hold The Door,” are featured below!

In its latest episode, Game of Thrones went out of its way to completely crush fans with the unexpected emotional punch of Hodor’s backstory and death. Now, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are doing something they never do: Apologizing for all the trauma.

Well, sorta.

The two took to Jimmy Kimmel Live where, surrounded by piles of money, they “apologized” and explained some inspiration behind the decision.

Yup, they still enjoy rubbing all that emotional torture in our faces and reminding us that no one is ever safe on their show. It’s more of a heartfelt “Sorry, not sorry.” But at least there was a knife in the back at the end!

Game of Thrones airs Sundays on HBO.
