The DUMBO cast is growing and getting ready to fly into theaters!
Disney’s live-action adaptation of Dumbo, which will be directed by Tim Burton, features some departures from the 1941 animation, but the story is attracting a lot of top name talent all the same.
DeObia Oparei, who is perhaps best known as Areo Hotah on Game of Thrones, has joined the project in a mystery role. That makes for four live-action film characters announced thusfar without names or backgrounds. But filming on the project just began about two weeks ago, so it’s no surprise that Disney is keeping some details under wraps.
The film stars Colin Farrell as Holt, a father and circus performer who struggles to get back in the business. On top of that, he’s been tasked with raising a belittled baby elephant with extra large ears by circus owner Max Medici (Danny Devito). However, things change when Holt’s children (played by newcomers Nico Parker and Finley Hobbins) discover that their new elephant friend, Dumbo, can fly. Soon Holt and Dumbo are a top attraction earning the attention from people like entrepreneur V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton) and a fellow circus act, Colette Marchant (Eva Green) who feel they can make Dumbo into a real star.
Dumbo is due to hit theaters on March 29, 2019.
