Gayle Forman’s YA hits JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR are a step closer to production!
Universal has hired the writing team that will script the world of JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR! Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage of Fake Empire productions have been tapped to take on the script, based off Gayle Forman’s best-selling novels.
JUST ONE DAY follows Allyson aka Lulu and Willem as they spend a magical, life-altering day and night together in Paris. JUST ONE YEAR chronicles the year that the two spend looking for each other after their fateful separation, discovering new revelations about their own lives along the way.
Because the two stories are so closely interwoven, JUST ONE DAY and JUST ONE YEAR will be woven into one feature film. No word on what the exact film title will be quite yet.
Schwartz and Savage are also the team behind the adaptation of Jay Asher and Carolyn Mackler’s THE FUTURE OF US and the ABOUT A BOY television series on NBC.
Gayle Forman is also the author behind last summer’s hit film IF I STAY.
