Gemma Chan joins the CAPTAIN MARVEL Cast to play Minn-Erva, a Kree geneticist and spy.
If you’ve been watching the BBCAmerica series Humans, then you probably already know what an awesome casting this is. Gemma Chan has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be a major player in the Captain Marvel movie, which stars Brie Larson as the titular character.
Chan will play Minn-Erva, a Kree geneticist and technology expert. In the comics, she starts off going to earth to seek Captain Mar-Vell in the hopes of mating with him and improving the Kree genetic code. However, we don’t know what the plot for the film will be, and we cannot assume it will be the same as in the comics.
What we know is that the movie will obviously center on Danvers aka Captain Marvel, whose DNA was accidentally fused with an alien (possibly Kree), which then resulted in superhuman strength, flight, and energy projection. What has been stated is that Minn-Erva has similar powers.
We are excited to see this casting and can’t wait to see what Chan does with the character. Aside from Larson, Chan will be joining Samuel L. Jackson, Jude Law, and Ben Mendelsohn, who is set to play the lead villain.
