The cast of THE MAGICIANS break down the premiere of season 2 and “Making Magic” in the crowning scene.

If you haven’t seen the premiere episode for season 2 of The Magicians, go watch it now before you continue on with this post, because *spoilers* ya’ll! If you have, then check out this video in which the cast and showrunner Sera Gamble break down the premiere episode, “Knight of Crowns.”

One of the highlights of the premiere was the crowning scene, in which Eliot, Margo, Alice, and Quentin crown each other as kings and queens of Fillory. The scene was delightful, from awakening the dead knight to the location to the actual crowning and confession of the new royal court. Plus, we get to see that Penny really does care about Quentin.

Based upon Lev Grossman’s best-selling books, The Magicians stars Jason Ralph (A Most Violent Year, Aquarius) as Quentin Coldwater, a brilliant grad student who enrolls in Brakebills College for Magical Pedagogy, a secret upstate New York university specializing in magic. He and his 20-something friends soon discover that the magical fantasy world they read about as children is all too real— and poses grave danger to humanity. Stella Maeve (Chicago P.D.), Hale Appleman (Teeth), Arjun Gupta (Nurse Jackie) and Summer Bishil (Towelhead, Lucky 7) also star in this one hour drama.

The Magicians airs Wednesdays at 9pm on Syfy.
