Gillian Anderson slides in screen for an influential role in AMERICAN GODS!
Some fans of shows like The X-Files and Hannibal have thought actress Gillian Anderson a goddess for years. Now it’s official, thanks to her new role on the Starz television series American Gods!
Anderson has signed on to play Media, perhaps the most powerful of the New Gods in the tale based on the novel by Neil Gaiman. Media gains her power from sources of human attention like computers, televisions, and devices– so she is very powerful indeed. She can use that power to take on the form of public figures and celebrities, suing them to spread her message. That will definitely help as the war between the New Gods and the Old Gods rages through America!
The series is Anderson’s second team-up with writer/producer Bryan Fuller, who was also the force behind Hannibal.
American Gods is due out sometime in 2017, though an exact premiere date has not been announced.
Show Synopsis:

Flying home for the funeral, as a violent storm rocks the plane, he is greeted by a strange man in the seat next to him. The man calls himself Mr. Wednesday, and he knows more about Shadow than is possible. He warns Shadow that a far bigger storm is coming. And from that moment on, nothing will ever be the same.
