Mystery thriller GENUINE FRAUD picked up by Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham!
The creative forces behind HBO’s hit series Girls have found their next project in the world of YA literature!
Jenni Konner and Lena Dunham have signed on to adapt and produce a movie version of E. Lockhart‘s latest young adult novel, Genuine Fraud, according to Vulture.
Told in reverse, the novel follows the intense friendship of Jule and Immie. Jule survived a rough upbringing and is finding her place in the world. Imogen is an heiress rebelling against her responsibilities. Together they lead a charmed life: Avoiding college, traveling, relaxing by the beach or pool, living in luxury. Their friendship is one that most don’t understand, a folie à deux that no one possibly could understand. But as their story unravels through Jule’s eyes, readers realize that there’s much more to their mischief than meets the eye.
