Glasstown Entertainment Signs First Look Deal With Amazon Studios

If you love Young Adult novel adaptations, there may be even more YA on the way thanks to a new deal between Amazon Studios and Glasstown Entertainment!

Glasstown Entertainment is a creative content development company founded by authors Lauren Oliver and Lexa Hillyer, as well as producer Lynley Bird. The company has sold a number of popular YA books, including Lexa Hillyer‘s Spindle Fire, Sara Holland‘s Everless, Rhoda Belleza‘s Empress of a Thousand Skies, and Tara SimsScavenge The Stars.

Through its new deal with Amazon Studios, Glasstown will work to develop television series that will be exclusively available via Amazon Prime Video, according to Deadline.

“We are so thrilled to continue collaborating with Amazon Studios to create innovative stories for young people–across publishing, television, short form, and beyond. Amazon has already been an unbelievably supportive partner to this vision, and we are excited to work with them to develop, produce, and adapt stories that matter, in multiple formats.”

Back in May, Amazon Studios officially picked up a series based on Oliver’s Panic, which the author had been closely developing with the streamer since at least 2018. The Panic series doesn’t have a release date quite yet, but it marks Amazon Studios’ first YA series adaptation.

Which of Glasstown’s other properties will be developed under the terms of this first look deal remain unknown, but there are plenty of exciting titles to choose from! Of course, there’s also room for content that’s created specifically for Amazon Prime Video and not based on a book.

We’ll keep you updated as more details come in!
