The Marvel/Netflix series deal continues on track with the casting of another beloved character
THE GOOD WIFE star Mike Colter has been tapped to take on the role of Luke Cage!
According to Marvel, Colter’s character will first appear on Marvel’s JESSICA JONES series starring Krysten Ritter before getting a series of his own.
Marvel TV director Jeph Loeb said:
“Fans have longed to see Luke Cage … and in Mike we’ve found the perfect actor … Viewers will get to meet Luke Cage in ‘Marvel’s A.K.A. Jessica Jones,’ and experience why he is such an important superhero in the Marvel mythos.”
For worn out superhero turned private detective Jessica Jones, Cage will serve as “a man whose past has secrets that will dramatically alter Jessica in ways she could never have imagined.”
In the comics, Cage also develops a relationship with Claire Temple, who is being played by Rosario Dawson and will be introduced in Marvel’s DAREDEVIL series beginning early next year.
After DAREDEVIL, JESSICA JONES, and LUKE CAGE, Marvel will also release an IRON FIST series before the four come together as THE DEFENDERS.
