Greg Berlanti is at it again!
The producer of Supergirl, Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow will be developing Katharine McGee’s futuristic novel THE THOUSANDTH FLOOR into a television series for ABC.
Set in 2118, the story explores a society confined to a 1000-story skyscraper where the wealthy live at the top and the less privileged at the bottom. A fitting tagline reads: “The higher you are… the farther there is to fall.” The first novel in this planned trilogy is set to be published in 2017.
Drama set in 2118, in a thousand-story supertower on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. A young woman’s fall from the 1,000th floor ignites a scandal that ensnares the top-floor elite and the bottom-floor drones. In this hyper-stratified world, the higher you climb, the farther you fall.
Maggie Friedman, a collaborator of Berlanti, will be joining forces on the project to write the show’s pilot. Friedman and Berlanti have previously worked together — notably on Dawson’s Creek. The project is shared by Berlanti Productions and Alloy Entertainment; Warner Bros. TV is the studio.
