STAR WARS Day continues with the reveal of Gwendoline Christie’s character in THE FORCE AWAKENS!

May the Fourth has been treating us all very well so far! Vanity Fair unleashed a new cover featuring the STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS cast plus several photos by Annie Leibovitz. In a video from the photo shoot, they also confirmed that Adam Driver will play the villain, Kylo Ren, while Lupita Nyong’o will play a digital character named Maz Kanata, a pirate who seems to be the Jabba the Hut counterpart of this installment.

However, one character left out of the initial fun received their reveal as well!

Peter Mayhew, better known as Chewbacca, had the honor of revealing the character played by GAME OF THRONES’ Gwendoline Christine!

Captain Phasma is described as an officer of the First Order, as known as the remnants of The Empire after the Rebel Alliance’s victory in Episode VI: THE RETURN OF THE JEDI. To fans, she’s mostly been known as “The Chrome Stormtrooper” up to this point.
