Just in time for Hanukkah, HARRY POTTER author JK Rowling is talking about the faith of students at Hogwarts and revealing the first Jewish student known to fans.
After Rowling wished fans of the Jewish faith a Happy Hanukkah, she answered a fan’s question about Jewish students at Hogwarts by revealing which minor character is lighting the Menorah each year.
.@benjaminroffman Anthony Goldstein, Ravenclaw, Jewish wizard.

When fans thought one student from the religion wasn’t a very accurate representation, Rowling was quick to note that Anthony Goldstein was not the only Jewish person at Hogwarts, just the first one for whom she had included the religion in his back story.
OK, let me clarify that! Anthony isn't the first Jewish student, nor is he the only one. I just have reasons for knowing most about him!

Of course, this revelation gathered interest from fans all around the world who hoped to know if their religion was also present at the famous School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Rowling took to Twitter once more to address the subject.
To everyone asking whether their religion/belief/non-belief system is represented at Hogwarts: the only people I never imagined there 1/2

are Wiccans.

Some people may think this ironic, but it makes sense considering that Wiccan teachings conflict with the magical education provided at Hogwarts in many ways.
It’s natural that fans want to know every detail of Hogwarts and Rowling is great at fleshing life in the castle. When asked if Jedi might be found at Hogwarts, Rowling even had an answer for that:
.@joe_hook There's probably one in there. I wouldn't put it past Dean Thomas.
