In the last 24 hours, the Youtube channel ‘JoBlo Movie Trailers‘ posted the opening scene and BTS video for Marvel’s Age of Ultron. In the video, we see scenes of one of the most famous bands of superheroes fighting H.Y.D.R.A soldiers spliced with short clips of commentary by director/writer Joss Whedon and Captain America himself (Chris Evans), as well as the lack of fear in Baron Wolfgang von Strucker’s eyes (well, eye).
Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Thor Odinson (Chris Hemsworth), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), and Captain America (Evans) are seen to be sparking, punching, and flipping their way through a snowy forest and coming together for what is an explosive start to the movie. In between action shots and interviews, we get a glimpse of the H.Y.D.R.A base and its leader, Baron von Strucker (played by Thomas Kretschmann) ignoring the warnings of his soldiers that they were going to have to deal with The Avengers. Another Marvel villain to underestimate the spectacular six.
“They’re a unit now, so it’s not growing pains anymore. It’s now just trying to operate as a team”- Chris Evans (Steve Rogers/Captain America) on The Avengers’ fighting dynamic
S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), James Rhodes/War Machine (Don Cheadle), and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) return, and we see some new faces, like the Russian twins; Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen), and Laura Barton (Hawkeye’s wife). And, upholding Marvel tradition, Stan Lee stars in his in own cameo role as…Stan Lee (no surprises there).
In just over a month since its release (13th April, 2015) at the premier in Los Angeles, its domestic total as of the 17th of May is $372,030,708, making it one of the highest grossing movies of the year so far.
