Connie Nielsen Cast as Hippolyta In ‘Wonder Woman’ DC
Wonder Woman has found its Hippolyta in Connie Nielsen (Gladiator). Hippolyta is Queen of the Amazons and mother to Wonder Woman/Princess Diana (Gal Godat). She joins a cast which includes Chris Pine, Robin Wright, David Thewlis, Danny Huston, and Ewen Bremner. Patty Jenkins (Monster) is directing the film, which is scheduled to be released into theaters on 17 June 2017. Not much is know about the plot of the film, however, Pine, who plays love interest, Steve Trevor, has said that it will be set against the backdrop of WWI.
According to the comic books Hippolyta possesses enhanced strength, enhanced speed, enhanced durability, ageless immortality, and highly developed fighting skills. Hippolyta also used a Magic Sphere, which could peer into the past and future.
