The return of an epic character and the end of the journey through Middle Earth are the focus of two new featurettes from THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES.
THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES is in theaters now, but Peter Jackson and co. are still releasing featurettes based on the film! Two new looks into the finale have found their way on to the web.
The first video focuses on the return of Christopher Lee as Saruman. The 92-year-old actor came back to Middle Earth to film Saruman’s scenes at the White Council. The feature gives fans a slice of the powerful scene, in which it’s clear that Lee’s acting prowess is still in top shape!
Next up is a more general featurette talking about the end of the Middle Earth franchise as we know it and how it’s affected those involved with the films and fans alike.
Peter Jackson has said that’s he’d be willing to return to Middle Earth in other films, but there isn’t much else to go on without reading between the fine lines in Tolkien’s works. Additionally, further rights to Middle Earth stories are owned by the Tolkien estate, who doesn’t seem too keen on the idea of more movies.
