How Tris’ Glass-Shattering Stunt Scene Came Together in INSURGENT

Watch to see how INSURGENT’s spectacular glass-shattering moment came to life!

Much of the campaign for Insurgent, the second movie in the Divergent series, came in the form of shattering glass. Characters, posters, and sets were revealed through multiple shards pieced together, making the busted glass look the mainstay of the film’s promotion.

The idea comes from a failed Amity sim in which Tris images cracking straight through the glass of her holding cell and tackles Jeanine, leading into one of the movie’s biggest effects sequences. Now, a new featurette snippet from the Insurgent DVD is explaining how and why that scene came to be!
