Okay, I have to admit that I still haven’t seen season two of Marvels’ Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. However, thanks to the powers that be (aka the Internet) I already know all about the season and all about how Skye (Chloe Bennet) finds out her real name is Daisy Johnson and that she has developed her very own superpowers and has become Quake.
Obviously being a superhero agent now means she gets to dawn her very own costume. We finally got a glimpse of what that costume will look like in the show!
The costume was designed by Ann Foley with some guidance from Chloe.
“- the new duds are your industry standard stealthy black number with a tactical belt; not exactly revolutionary. The interesting part here is the S.H.I.E.L.D.-manufactured gauntlets, which help to channel and control Johnson’s Inhuman abilities. Since Foley wanted to pay homage to the suit in the comics as well as imbuing the costume with a sense of strength and empowerment, the stealthy number also features the Quake symbol on her gauntlets and across the back.”
Here’s Bennet’s take on finally getting to suit up as Quake:
“It was really, really fun to put it on. With the inner geek in me — and growing up with six brothers — I was never really interested in being the princess. I was more into being someone who kicked … and was a superhero. So, that was a dream come true,” said Bennet. “It was cool to be a part of the process in helping to design the outfit.”
I am in love with the way she looks in this costume. It’s totally like a bad ass homage to Maria Hill kind of and even to some small degree Black Widow. There is just something amazingly powerful about a kickass woman in a black suit!
I will be trying to catch up so that when season three airs I can sit down in front of my screen and watch her do her thing.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will enter its third season on Tuesday, September 29th on ABC.
