INHUMANS Series Confirms Director for IMAX Episodes

Roel Reine has signed on to direct the first two episodes of Marvel’s THE INHUMANS, which will premiere on IMAX screens.

ABC and Marvel have released news that director Roel Reine will be directing the first two episodes of The Inhumans. Not only that, but in a collaboration with Imax, both episodes will be shown on Imax screens nationwide over the Labor Day weekend in September.

Roel Reine is known for his work on several Dutch films and his straight-to-video U.S. movies, including such titles as The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption and Hard Target 2. It’s probably because of his familiarity with action films that he was hired to direct The Inhumans.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Inhumans is not in lieu of the planned feature film, nor is it to be considered a spinoff of the ABC Marvel-related series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Inhumans, a race of superhumans with diverse and unique powers, were first introduced in Marvel Comics by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1965. Since then, they have become among the most popular characters in the Marvel Universe. ABC’s The Inhumans will explore the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt and the royal family.
