Joseph Trapenese, who scored the first DIVERGENT film, has confirmed that he’ll return for INSURGENT!
Now, he’s talking about what fans can expect from the very important musical aspect of the film!
This film, there’s a lot more danger and a lot more at stake. We’ve vacated the song-based soundtrack, relied more on the score. The score is darker and more intense.
Though he credits Woodkid and Ellie Goulding for their contributions for the first soundtrack, he won’t talk about whether Goulding or another artist might take part in the INSURGENT score.
“Not only can I not talk about it, but I haven’t finished the score yet. We’ve scored about two-thirds to three-quarters of the film, about to dive into the final steps … We’ve been working on this since July, slowly. We’ve been talking about it since March.”
Scores are typically ignored but are a major part of the movie-going experience. We can’t wait to see how this one turns out!
