Interviews Movies

Watch us Interview the cast of READY PLAYER ONE

The cast of READY PLAYER ONE were at WonderCon to talk about this epic sci-fi movie.

We got to meet with the cast of Ready Player One at this year’s WonderCon, which took place at the Anaheim Convention Center in California. Lucky for us, the cast were all too happy to talk about being in such a blockbuster-type movie, directed by such a blockbuster-type director, Steven Spielberg.

From the playlist above, we talk to Emmy Award winner Lena Waithe about her LGBT+ character, Aech, or Helen, who takes on the virtual character of an orc. Then we talk to Philip Zhao, who plays Sho, the youngest of the High Five, where we ask him what it was like to work with Steven Spielberg.

Screenwriters Zak Penn and Ernest Cline (who also happens to be the author for Ready Player One) talk about the changes needed in adapting the book to a movie. We also ask veteran actor Ben Mendelsohn the differences of his villainous Sorrento from this movie and Orson Krennic from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Finally, we talk to (albeit very briefly) with Olivia Cooke and Tye Sheridan, who play Art3mis and Parzival, respectively.

We’re totally excited for this film, with all its nostalgic eggs. Ready Player One opens this Thursday, the 29th. Get your tickets to see this virtually phenomenal movie.
