Writer/director James Gunn was a major factor in the flair and originality of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. With the positive reviews flowing in, Marvel confirmed to Variety at Comic-Con that Gunn will be back for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY 2!
There’s been no word on whether Gunn’s co-writer on the first GUARDIANS script, Nicole Perlman, will be back for a second round.
GUARDIANS 2 will likely take one of the five release date spots designated through 2019, but the exact date has not been announced.
