James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe are all wet in new VICTOR FRANKENSTEIN image

Check out this new image from Victor Frankenstein in which James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe are all wet and looking on something through what seems like a fiery scene, what with all the smoke and fire around them.

What this movie takes on is not the actual book it’s based off of, because there is no Igor in Mary Shelley’s classic, but as EW says, it’s like a “amalgamation” of all the versions, movies and such.  This one differs in that it comes from the point of view of Igor, played by Radcliffe. McAvoy plays the flawed creator Dr. Frankenstein.

“It’s about creation, and Victor is not only creating this monster but in a sense Igor, who in the beginning of the movie is living in abject conditions and considered less than human,” Radcliffe says.

It seems this is not really about the monster that Frankenstein creates but the relationship between the doctor and the assistant, which McAvoy acknowledges.

“Victor’s ego means that at times he thinks he’s superior to Igor,” McAvoy says. “Their relationship is close, loving, abusive, manipulative, and it turns on a dime.”
