Jamie Campbell Bower has been working out for his role in the Mortal Instruments movie! I’m sure he’s probably pretty muscular, but in the lean frame sort of muscular, so it’ll be interesting to see how much more weight he can put on to show a bigger build.
“I’m in physical training every day,” he tells Mandrake at the launch of Lacoste’s flagship store in Knightsbridge.
“I’m drinking lots of protein shakes. I’m going to the gym and doing weights in the morning, then, in the afternoon, I’m doing something called Krav Maga, which is a martial art.”
Krav Maga, which is actually a self defense system that was developed in Israel and is used by the Israeli Defense Forces, has become a rather popular form of martial arts in the U.S. and thus it’s no surprise that it’s being used for JCB’s training. He is already trained in swordfighting due to his role as King Arthur in the one-season-only television series Camelot. So, let us hope that we get to see a good amount of he’s learned (and if those protein shakes have done his body good) in the film.
He also mentions how it knowing the martial art could be a good thing for him on a personal level:
The actor, 23, who resides in Clapham, south London, adds: “If you live in a dodgy area like I do, then it could be a handy thing for me to have.”
